Updated: Mar 27, 2020

(21st Feb 2020), I read this sad news about Hong Ming, a police officer, only 35 years old. Hong-Ming, 35. 战友,一路走好!

He sacrificed his life safeguarding us. At 15:30 on February 20, 2020, he suddenly fainted when he was working overtime to handle the epidemic-related cases (Liuhe Police Station, Taicang City Public Security Bureau, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province)

Then came the report of Peng Yinhua, a 29-year-old doctor (Wuhan, Hubei province). He died from the novel coronavirus pneumonia on Thursday (9.50 pm), according to the local health administration. He was about to get married on 1st Feb. However, the doctor postponed the wedding and returned to work (at the First People's Hospital of Wuhan Jiangxia district), putting his wedding day on hold.

Let's salute these soldiers who cared so much about us. My deepest condolences and respect.

Here are the latest global infection data (Morning, 21st Feb 2020):

Very positive results as 18,280 people have been cured (2112 within 24 hours).

Then came reports of nearly 500 people getting infected in the prisons. 271 infections were reported from Hubei province’s prison system (230 were in women’s prison, Wuhan). Separately, In Rencheng prison in Shandong, 200 prisoners and 7 guards tested positive (as of Thursday). In the Shilifeng prison of Zhejiang province, 34 prisoners have been infected.

Then, we have an outbreak in South Korea. Today, 52 new cases were reported, bringing the national total of infected patients to 156. Most are based in Daegu.

Of course, another major infection happened with Diamond Princess, carrying more than 3,700 people this month. Based on the latest data, since being quarantined in the Japanese port of Yokohama, over 630 passengers and crew have been infected,

To answer the question, the virus, officially named Sars-CoV-2, causes pneumonia-like symptoms. It's very very dangerous. It's a threat to the entire humanity.
